Welcome to Woodville Day Nursery & Kindergarten
About us
Established in 1962 – we’re a part of your family!
Welcome to Woodville Day Nursery and Kindergarten, where early learning meets compassionate care. For over six decades, we’ve been a trusted cornerstone of the community, providing high-quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Our mission is to nurture each child’s individual potential in a safe, supportive, and enriching environment.
Our Approach to Learning
At Woodville, we pride ourselves on offering a holistic approach to early childhood education. We believe that the early years lay the foundation for lifelong learning and development. Inspired by renowned educational philosophies including Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, and Reggio Emilia, our programs focus on the development of the whole child — intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.
We prioritise small class sizes and a high educator-to-child ratio, ensuring that each child receives personalised attention tailored to their unique needs and learning style. This individualised approach helps foster a strong sense of confidence, curiosity, and creativity, preparing children for a successful transition into school.
Our Values
Raising Responsible Citizens
We are committed to nurturing young minds that grow into responsible, respectful individuals who understand the importance of their actions and their communities.
Your Family is Our Family
We believe in creating a warm, welcoming environment where families feel supported. As an extension of your family unit, we strive to ensure that each child’s experience is one of safety, belonging, and growth.
Respecting and Celebrating Culture
We believe in acknowledging and celebrating reconciliation, ensuring that children understand the significance of our shared history, the cultures that shape us, and the importance of respecting our land. This is reflected in our Reconciliation Plan, which integrates the values and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into our curriculum.
Holistic Learning
Our philosophy is centered on child development and early years pedagogy, where learning is woven into every experience, promoting well-rounded growth in every child.
What Makes Us Unique?
Woodville Day Nursery and Kindergarten stands apart because of our long-standing dedication to quality education and care. The Vreugdenburg family has been at the heart of our centre for over six decades. Owner Tanya Robinson began as an assistant at just 16 years old and has worked tirelessly to maintain the core values of the service, ensuring children are always the top priority.
Tanya is also an executive member of the Australian Childcare Alliance South Australia, where she actively advocates for the early years sector, working closely with government agencies to help shape policies and initiatives that benefit children, families, and educators alike. Her commitment to the future of early childhood education extends to her recent role assisting TAFE SA with their students' logbook requirements, ensuring that the next generation of educators is well-equipped to meet the demands and responsibilities of the profession.
Our highly experienced team is committed to providing consistency and continuity in care, with assistant directors and educators who have been with us for 25 years each. Michael Robinson, co-owner, is actively involved in the day-to-day running of the centre, assisting with maintenance and ensuring the facility is always ready for families each day. With our educational leader bringing 19 years of experience and a dedicated 4-year trained teacher, we ensure that children are well-prepared for their next big step — school.
