We place great importance on recognising and celebrating a wide range of cultural festivities throughout the year. We understand the significance of honouring and embracing the diverse cultural backgrounds of our families.

We firmly believe that valuing and acknowledging special occasions within families is vital for children's development and overall well-being. By fostering an inclusive environment that embraces various cultures, we create opportunities for children to appreciate and respect diversity.

INTERACTIVE SCREEN

Interactive screens are now installed in our Pre-Kindy room and Pre-school/Kindy Rooms. Our centre is always looking for ways to enhance children’s learning. High quality education and care is our number one priority. Although we are classed as for ‘profit’, we really are ‘not for profit’ as money is streamed back into the service for resources and upgrades.

Preschool teachers widely agree that preschool education should be fun and engaging, not stressful, and should emphasize play over academics.

Early childhood education researchers and policymakers stress that young learners need to start getting used to academic learning early on so they’ll have an easier time learning how to read and write. To introduce children to academics in a way they find motivating and fun, early childhood education needs to combine learning and play. To do this, teachers can use teaching tools like interactive whiteboards.

Interactive whiteboards can improve outcomes in early childhood education across many subjects, from literacy and English language learning to math and science. In literacy, for example, teachers can use interactive whiteboards to share multimedia ebooks with text, sound, images, colour, and animation. This motivates children to learn and helps them concentrate.

Book Week 2024

The theme this year is "Reading is Magic"

We ask your child brings their book with them that week so we can share with their class. If you can donate the book to us that would be great as we will donate them to "Puddle Jumpers" a charity to assist the homeless families in Adelaide 🙂

Australian Dental Foundation Visit

The ‘My School Dentist’ Program proudly provides onsite mobile dental treatment and education for your child. You will receive a report on the dentist findings and they also provide follow up care at their onsite dentist rooms. These visits tie in with our education and policy around dental hygiene where the children will brush their teeth after breakfast all supplied by the centre.

At Woodville Day Nursery we have the dentist visit our children every 6 months which is covered under your Medicare or your Private Health Insurance.

The children are very excited to take a new toothbrush home provided by the dentist.

New Shade Sail

We are thrilled to announce the installation of a new shade sail at our early learning centre, marking a significant enhancement to our outdoor environment. This innovative addition not only provides much-needed sun protection but also creates a comfortable and safe space for children to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the day.

Nestled amidst our play areas, the shade sail offers a cool retreat where children can engage in imaginative play, socialise with peers, and explore their surroundings with added comfort and security. Its vibrant design complements our commitment to creating a stimulating and nurturing environment, ensuring that every child can thrive while benefiting from the joys of outdoor play in a protected setting.

Our Menu

Our menu is designed in conjunction with the 'Get up and Grow' Program. We also include child's input into the development of our menus. We prefer our children to consume what is offered rather than the food being wasted and thrown out. As part of our Sustainability program we do not wish to add food to landfill when our country has a high rate of individuals and families who are missing meals due to our economic crisis.

Our food is locally sourced from the farmers market along with local supermarkets. We don't have a food budget, we ensure children have enough food to be satisfied.
